+ 2009 Aspen RooftopComedy Festival \\ 06.28.09
This year I got to participate in the 2009 Aspen Rooptop Comedy Festival. The grassroots comedy fest hosted by SF’s own Rooftopcomedy.com featuring some of my favorite comics including Finesse Mitchell, Robert Hawkins, Chad Daniels, W. Kamau Bell, Kyle Grooms, Moshe Kasher, Dan Cummins, and more. I was a big fan of the fest because of its tight knit feel. Every comic is in touch with the festival staff and gets a chance to hang with the entire RooftopComedy crew. Here’s a picture of me with RooftopComedy blogger extraordinaire Paolo:
This year’s fest was held at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen. A historic location in the center of downtown Aspen, having the fest based out of one location was great because I got to see every comic performing at the festival. Got to see fellow San Francisco comic Moshe Kasher take home this year’s Best of Fest 2009.
I also got to be a part of San Francisco’s critically acclaimed podcast Siskel and Negro. I got a chance to talk about everything that’s on my mind right now: Standup comedy, Twitter, and Lil’ Wayne. You can check out the interview here:

6.1.09. History (as far as my life in concerned) is made. DJ Hero release party. Apparently Jay-Z and Eminem are putting on a private concert to kick off the release of the new video game DJ Hero. Was never a Guitar Hero fan to begin with, but the opportunity to see Who was there? A ridiculously random assortment of celebs, athletes, and people I find entertaining: Ron Artest, Baron Davis, Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Grant Hill, MC Hammer, and obviously…me. Basically, I had no business being there whatsoever.
Apparently they Jay kicks off the concert and performs all the classics: ‘99 Problems’, ‘Public Service Announcement’, ‘You don’t know’, and ‘Blue Magic’. Even though the industry in the room didn’t know what was going on, Jay was diving into all the hustler anthems.
The beat drops from Jay’s album ‘The Blueprint’, and I knew the time had come. Jay. Em. Never been afraid to say what’s on their mind on any given time of day. Renegades.
What type of shoes does HOV wear? Exclusive Nike Air Yeezy’s. But how would I know that? I was literally thirty feet away from the stage. Amazing night.
